The past 2 weekends have been filled with preperations for the arrival of our little one. Last weekend, Karen and I went out to Baby Depot to pick up the crib for the nursery. Yesterday, we went out and picked up the dresser. Both pieces are now assembled, and awaiting patiently their new owner. This child already has better furniture than either of us do!
Getting the crib in the house and assembled was nothing. It just took a while. The dresser on the other hand, was a different story. It took both Larry and I a while to manuver it up and around the stairway. That sucker is heavy!
We finally got everything (furniture wise) in the nursery, now on to the clothes and other necessities...
PIctures of the process are available here.
This Saturday, Grandma Bishop and Aunt Tammy came over and put up the border in the nursery. I was out playing paintball, which was fine because I don't do wallpaper! Glad to have such a helpful group of friends and family that are willing to help out in any way possible. Thank you all!
Pictures from the hanging are available here.
On Saturday 4/17 Daddy, Grandma Sandy and Aunt Tammy painted the nursery. I must say that I was very impressed when the work was finished in about an hour or so. We left the border for Grandma Mariann to do when she returns from Indiana. She thinks that she will be up for decorating on Saturday which means that we can go and buy funiture and start getting some of cute little clothes we got from our wonderful frineds put away where they belong not just in the gift bags and hopefully I can get things arranged so that all we have to do is wait for this little one to come out into the world.
Pictures from the festivities are up here.

Preliminary pictures of the nursery before we destroy it and make it a hospitable place for a newborn are up here. Plans at this time are to do the paint and border sometime within the next month or so, but we don't have a whole lot of time left.
